Seize Off-Season Promotions and Deals
This time of the year is considered the off-season for tourism, making it ideal for travelers to take advantage of special promotions and great deals. Whether you’re interested in adventure tours, nature exploration, or relaxation, off-season offers can provide significant savings.
Behind the Scenes: Enhancing Our Tours and Celebrating Our Team
As tourism slows down, we use this period to enhance our tours, exceed client expectations, and streamline our operations for the upcoming high season. Simultaneously, we celebrate the hard work of our dedicated team. Our employees enjoy over two months of engaging activities, including informative sessions on financial planning, team-building activities, and outdoor adventures.
Independence Day Celebrations: A Unique Costa Rican Tradition
One highlight of this season is the celebration of Costa Rica’s Independence Day on September 15th. This year marked the 196th anniversary of the proclamation of independence. Costa Ricans commemorate this historic event with a symbolic torch relay from Guatemala to Costa Rica. School children eagerly participate, parading around town squares with handmade torches or “faroles.”
As part of our employee appreciation program, we organized a torch-making workshop for our employees’ children, encouraging creativity using recycled materials. This initiative not only celebrates Independence Day but also fosters a sense of community among our staff and their families.
Join the Festivities: Parades, Competitions, and Traditional Meals
Costa Rica’s Independence Day is celebrated with grandeur, featuring early morning bell-ringing ceremonies, parades in major cities, and ornate floats. In our local town, the celebration was particularly significant as the La Fortuna school band recently achieved first place in an international competition.
Families across the country gather during this time for traditional meals such as picadillo, handmade tortillas, and olla de carne meat stew. The festivities provide a unique opportunity to witness Costa Rican patriotism and enjoy the rich culinary heritage.
