Costa Rica is well-known as the whitewater rafting capital of the world due to its abundant and exciting rivers and its growing number of outdoor enthusiasts. After receiving safety instructions from your professional guide, you'll strap on your helmet and roll down the thrilling rapids of one of the most famous rivers in Costa Rica.
Witness the exotic flora and fauna as you descend down the river – lush greenery, vines, birds, and other wildlife such as sloths and monkeys! Halfway down the river, stop and enjoy fresh tropical fruit at the side of the river while having a chance to soak in the surrounding natural beauty. After your rafting adventure, your van will be waiting for you to take you to your new destination!
We'll pick you up from your hotel and drive across the rustic Costa Rican back roads, through gorgeous mountains and quaint villages until we reach Tenorio. You'll then take a scenic 4x4 ride to the river put-in at the bridge over the Tenorio River. There your guide will give you technical instructions before heading on your journey down one of Costa Rica's most famous rivers!
You'll witness the impressive canyon of the Tenorio River along with many different types of flora and fauna - lush greenery, vines, birds, monkeys, and other types of wildlife.
You'll experience over 20 thrilling rapids, and finish the tour off as you descend the breathtaking Cascabel waterfall – a 12-foot drop -- the BIGGEST rapid in Costa Rica!
After this heart-pounding rafting tour is over, you will have an opportunity to change your clothing, enjoy a delicious lunch at our Operations Center, and then head to your next destination near the Arenal Volcano! Door to door service with a smile and plenty of Adventure!
ADVENTURE CONNECTION LOGISTICS:
1. Your Adventure Connection van will pick you up at your hotel in the Monteverde Area - be sure you are completely packed and that you have checked the hotel safe to make sure you haven't forgotten anything. Please be ready 5 minutes before the pick-up time just in case we come a little early.
2. Please be dressed and ready for adventure! We try to be as efficient as possible on our Adventure Connections to maximize the fun you'll have on your tour. Please have a daypack ready with everything you'll need such as sunscreen, change of clothes, hat, secure shoes, etc. so you won't have to take time to change and get ready once we arrive at the tour starting point.
3. We will drive around the picturesque, but rather windy roads of Monteverde.
4. We will make a quick stop halfway to stretch your legs and use the restrooms if you wish.
5. We then turn onto the Pan-American Highway and drive another 20 minutes to the Tenorio Adventure Route One Restaurant to meet up with fellow rafting adventurers and continue on about 5 minutes more to the bridge over the Tenorio River.
6. Once at the river, you will be provided helmets and a paddle and receive instructions about this informative float on a gorgeous tropical river. Be sure to have sunscreen as some sections are exposed while others have beautiful tree cover.
7. You will be on the river approximately 2 hours. At the end, you will load back up on your van and continue back to the Tenorio Adventures Route #1 Restaurant for a delicious traditional casado meal -- we like to say: "Have some FUN on Route #1!"
8. Continue on your Adventure Connection to your La Fortuna destination! We drop you off right at your hotel. Door to door service!
